African American women are now beginning to enter and begin to mingle with the white dominated arenas like health, mathematics, medicine, engineering and entrepreneurship. Though this is happening, the numbers are low and the barely noticable.

Another Scholarship institution that focuses in supporting African American students who want to pursue in the field of Science or Technology is the Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology.

But being a single mom does not mean you have to forego the simple pleasures of life and most importantly, your education. There is always aids and financial aids available for single mothers and women scholarships in general. You just have to know where to look.
